I couldn't go full frame as I had hoped, so I on the advise of this forum I traded my 17-40 for the 10-22
QUOTED IMAGE
It's great to have a true wide angle view and I don't seem to get as much barrel distortion wide open.

Thanks for posting - that's awesome! Can you share your exposure settings and whether or not you used any kind of filters or PP work?

I love this lens.
Shot at 17mm, f/11 for 1.5" on my 300D with the assistance of the Fader ND filter.

so where are those threads about using the 10-22 on FF/1.3 and which rear baffle you need to order to make it cover? 24-85mm?

I know that user Sydor25 has posted several photos in this thread using the 10-22 on his 1D Mark III.

Yes the rear baffle of the 24-85mm lens covers the exposed interior of the "modified" 10-22. So does the rear baffle of the 35 f/2 lens.

Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)

Thanks,
Always liked the look of that place and I keep trying to capture a shot that looks the way it feels to me. Not sure if I'm there yet but that just gives me an excuse to go back and try again.:D
I'm from California but lived in Louisiana for ten years and now back in California. My Dad was born and raised in Louisiana and my wife was born in France. So the locals started calling me Calicajun and the name stuck.

Nothing wrong with any excuse to go back to Vegas!! Figured something like that with your username. Born and raised in the Big Easy, me. Cheers!

Oh, and nice reflection there stonyzmom, like that shot.

Thanks s2k; that shot was taken with a 10 stop b+w nd filter and a 3 stop cokin gnd filter. The exposure was 30 seconds at f16. I had to get rid of some vignetting due to using both filters and the cokin z pro holder (even with the adapter ring on the inside) and I also did a slight levels and curves adjustment just to brighten it up a little, than the usual noise reduction and a little final sharpening. I left the white balance as shot so no major change from the original raw image.
