Shame Tim, there were also some particularly good deals on rolling Lowepro cases recently, one of which I know Jono from here took advantage of.

If you are buying, for the amount of gear you're carrying I would take a serious look at Think Tank's stuff, very intelligently designed even if not the most cool or glam looking. Crumpler's stuff (I'm a huge fan of theirs) is basically just not big enough for large camera kits.

Usual Lowepro stuff applies, works well, looks crap. ;)

REMINDER FOR WELLY NERDZ!

One Red Dog by the waterfront tomorrow night from 5:30 onwards. Beers and pizzas ahoy! 8)

Cheers, Dave.

My Lowepro bag is a bit crap, i'd really like a case that opens up rather than a backpack. Do you have much in store Dave? Progear has some online, but it'd be nice to try it out first.

I won't make the drinks tomorrow, sorry, I have a chocolate buffer to go to with Kathryn.

Dining with a woman comes first! ;)

The rest of us smelly old sods will just have a giggle on our own don't worry! :p

Big stuff in store, erm, no not really. We order it in as and when, basically because when you walk in the door at the shop you're looking at all the storage space. ;)

I can get any Lowepro, Think Tank and Crumpler stuff (even Kata and Tamrac if you *really* wanted) pretty quickly though, of course if the suppliers have them. Clue, bag suppliers are usually better than Nikon suppliers... ;)

Cheers, Dave.

I'm dining with two women, even better ;)

I'll have to work out what kind of bag I want, there's no great rush for that. If there's a sale any time let me know and i'll work it out more quickly. I'm already spending enough so no great rush to spend more!

I've sold everything except my 17-55 lens, all for decent prices. $700 for 100mm macro, $1950 for gripped 7D (not great but oh well), $1000 for 10-22, 700 for gripped 40D. The 17-55 is out for fixed price offer now. I might even be able to afford the Nikon gear now! ;)

Hahaha!

Whoever got that 7D got a nice deal. Not my thing personally, but you have to admit it's a nice bit of kit for that price. :)

I've sold everything now, overall the prices I got aren't too bad. I'll probably have bits and pieces left over, batteries and stuff, which i'll offer up once I get things sorted.

It's a bit odd actually, the guy's in Auckland and wanted to fly down to get it. He went to the airport to try to get a flight. He was messing me about, didn't trust couriers, and for some reason doesn't believe insurance would cover it. I told him I wasn't going to sell it to him. I offered it to the watchers and sold it for $2000 about ten minutes later.

If you have any BP511s with some decent life left in them when you're done Tim I'd be interested. One or two of the eight I have seem to drop charge pretty quick now...

The Welly meet up tonight was good. Nice attendance, good times and good food. Very comforting to see the only cameras in attendance were an iPhone, a Holga and a Fuji/Polaroid. 8)

I have loads of BP511s, some brand new and never used, some used but still working perfectly. Once I get everything sorted i'll bring some over.

Not bad prices.. we sold our 10-22 for that price too a few months ago... and our 40D without grip for around $800...

When do you get to try out your new kit in a wedding situation?

I just wanted to get rid of a lot of it. My Canon gear's paid for more than half of the Nikon gear.

I have a very small wedding that's more like a party in early September, and I have two BIG weddings in October. I've been offered the opportunity to 2nd shoot with a great photographer I met at the Beckstead conference late September, up in Hawkes Bay. I'm also considering doing a free or cheap wedding in September if I can find someone who wants a photographer and is willing to accept they get what they get.
