Yesterday I found 3 used 5Dc in a local flea market. Prices were going from $900 to $1000.
All of them had dead battery, so I could only make an external revision. They looked almost new, with no scratches, good mirrors.

My question is: How to check a used 5Dc? Is it there any way to know how many shutter activations it has done? Is it something else to see besides this parameter?

Of course I will test it with some shots before buying one, but I wanted to know if there is something else to take into consideration.

thanks for your time.

Only Canon has access to find out actual shutter count. I would check serial number, from my understanding. there are certain model with LCD problem. Good luck !!

I am not arguing but I have not heard about an LCD problem. There is a a mirror recall and you will want to check on whether that has been done. Not a big deal but you will be without it for awhile. It is a completely free fix and Canon even pays for shipping.

There has been a documented "issue" with some people saying that the earlier 5D's with some serial number (that I forgot) has a lackluster LCD. Is this really a problem... I'm not too sure I would say it is a problem since I don't try to rely on the LCD that much anyways.

Supposedly the series of 5Dc's towards the end of the production has better LCD's than the earlier models. Make or break with the camera? probably not.
