great shot but...that rainbow is way too fake...I mean...not only is it obvious that that would never happen, the sun's not at the centre of it...takes the shot from cool to cheesy...

Not fake at all, sorry. Came straight out of the camera that way, only thing thats been done is convert from RAW, resize and borders, thats just the way shooting into the sun caused it to flare. Thanks for the comments though.

great capture, you often see a halo around your aircrafts shadow when flying over an overcast.

Thanks, figured it was a combo of all the smoke and shooting into the sun that caused it...

Honestly? Seriously? I mean either you're just jerking my chain...or I feel really foolish now hahaha ;) If that's the way it came off the card...then hot damn...nice shot haha...

I just don't get how the sun wouldn't be the centre of the halo...plus I've never seen a lens flare like that...

I've only seen that happen with a laser filter, but I won't say it couldn't happen without one.

Cool shot. Could use some prop blur.

Had a CPL on, not sure if that makes any difference. I agree that some more prop blur would have been nice but since it was straight into the sun the shutter speed ended up pretty high, was shooting in Av at the time it went by. Thanks for the comments.

Ah...that MAY have had something to do with bouncing the light around a bit...
