I got mine but now sending it back to B&H... :(

I thought it would be, better? The 12-24 is just as good for less money. So I will keep that instead :)

The 12-24 is awesome, and very under-rated IMHO. Great lens for the price, and a good alternative to the 11-16. Personally I prefer the range of the 12-24; it's a lot more useable for me than the 11-16 would be.

I agree, guess the 2.8 vs 4.0 swings a lot of people to the 11-16 range...but its also so much more expensive!!

I registered for the email notification and never got a notice. Is it because there are a lot of people waiting for it or the notification system does not work?

I was at B@H today and inquired about the lens, the sales rep said that they did receive some, however, they had about 500 backorders to fill before the lens will be offered to the public. I just ordered one from Roberts $599, free shipping and no sales tax - thanks for the link.

I just got one from Kenmore camera in WA state. They sell on ebay for $629 with free shipping and include a hoya filter. I looked at their past sales and sometimes they offer just the lens for $599.

The shipping was very fast for USPS. I talked to them on Monday after 3pm here in Florida and they said they would ship that evening. When I got home from work on Wednesday it was waiting for me probably since noon. I was impressed.
