yea.. just my 2 cents..

if it bends bend it .. it is the best way to pose.. besides.. how would you put her into wheel?

she can't stand in there now can she?

I think part of the problem is the way her shirt is positioned.. it makes her look frumpy and bigger than she is.

Nothing shameless about that! Very nice, I could see that hanging on a wall somewhere.

Ok, enough chit chat from me, here's a few from this evening.

She is beautiful!
I love the rays in the back on the first photo
I think she has a very striking stare and would go a long way if you subtly make the eyes pop a little
but they are great just the way they are right now!

I pulled the high pass back a bit. I actually like it more now. See if you like the skin any better now.

Looks perfect there Rob.. Yes sometimes, specially when it's a long day editing and we are doing this at 2AM our eyes get used to the images and I find in my case I tend to use a too heavy HP mask. One quick way I find to see if the HP mask is too strong (pixel radius too large) is checking on the hair and pores, since those are the ones that will screw up an image if the sharpness is too much. Worst thing is that I normally save original size, then a large 1800x1200px for my Flickr account and finally a 720x480px for website forums and Facebook. So there you go, I have to create HP for all 3 sizes and personally I like to mask and only apply to certain areas so more work even.

PS: For the quick and dirty edits I normally use HP for sharpening but if it's an image I will print or that I really love I go the long route and apply proper sharpening techniques.

That's exactly how I work. I never apply an adjustment layer or filter to an entire image. I use layer masks for everything and selectively make my adjustments.

I don't really use the HP for sharpening as much as I do to bring back a 'texture map' for the skin.

but I really think you should have a place to display full proportional versions of your images and only use those Facebook edits for Facebook.

I do it exactly like you are saying Rob and it does take some extra time per image. I have no issues doing it but I only have 3 to 4 shoots a month max, so I have the luxury of doing that. I think Pham has like 3 shoots a day (I see tons of images coming out daily :)), I guess would be way too time consuming for him.

Very nice Jeff.. The wardrobe, background and pose make this an interesting shot IMHO.. I am pretty sure the photogs that take rules pretty seriously will mention the foot sinking on the grass and the hidden hand, but I do not play by the rules, so it works for me ;)

Very unique image Dani. I love dark mood images and this one goes great with that industrial setting. I do not know if the tilt was done in camera or later in PS, but I like it and makes the image more interesting IMO. The part I do not like is the model, seems like he is kind of bored, a pose with attitude would had work great in this image.

I really enjoy seeing how others frame and compose their shots.

That is a really cool industrial shot.

A quick-and-dirty edit from my shoot on Sunday. Hope you like it. Single beauty dish from the right...

Nothing shameful about that pic at all! I am having trouble focusing my eyes in the ocean or sky cause the brigther right corner grabs my complete attention. This type of framing would work if the bright are had some interest (in this case is kind of boring sand); contrast in images pull our attention and dictate how the image will be seen (the more common rule is entering the image on the left lower side, yet in this case is the right but my eyes just get stucked there). Personally I would crop the bottom a bit (may be just to the point where the sand goes underwater, those textures in the water are too cool to crop). Beg in mind I have hardly any experience in landscape shooting, so as far as I know I might be saying pure bull in this post..hahaha... I am just writing my impression when I look this image.
