Hey everyone,

Just got the sigma 70-200f2.8 OS finally after all the wait.

Surely others will be getting their hands on theirs soon.

Be nice to have their pics here...or somewhere more appropriate

First impressions:
nice weight...first real higher end lens..

took some pics (not transferred yet) seem very sharp (may oof due to user)

did not notice HSM AF when using it...so that is nice.

AF on EOS 50D seem quite fast ...other than other store lens.

Cannot wait to really get out with it...

indoor low light iso1600 little noisy but should clean up nicely with LR3

Hope to see more opinions on your lens.

What I'm looking forward to is a direct comparison between the 70-200 OS and the 70-200 IS II

Wow, that is quite pricy, even for european standards (we're used to normally paying the same amount in euros as you guys do in dollars).
It's available here in the Netherlands for 1399 euros --> $1804.

Grats on your new purchase, hope you'll get some good sample shots in :)

yeah it is the 25% vat/tax tht kills... so its €1162 / $1528 but still pricey... i rationalize it as $300 per year over 5 yr period....whatever to digest the price!
