i know typically, ive seen portraits using BD, has anyone found any other uses for a BD? i just got my 16 inch today and am contemplating a 22, just trying to see how much ill ACTUALLY use it, havent been doing many portraits lately

Just found this thread. Great pics everyone. I am really digging the light coming from BD's.

For those of you using the Alienbees 22" BD... what's the better choice... the regular HOBD or the white HOBD?

Also, the AB grids for the 22" BD are $100 for the 15 degree and $70 for the 30 degree one... any cheaper but still quality alternatives?

I went regular, I sock it if i want a softer look. I used bare on the model in the red bra.

cool. Nice shot BTW and cute model. I think I like the regular one too. I mean if i want soft light ill use a soft box instead. Av-course there is the diffusion sock.

Now for the grids... Im wondering if there worth $160 for the two of them.
