I was able to see both sides of it, until the photographer commented back;

" MY WORK WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY, I'M ONE OF THE MOST VERSATILE PHOTOGRAPHERS IN THE UNITED STATES."

It's a burger shoved in a woman's arse, not that groundbreaking really but it's nicely lit...

I find the picture in the link neither offensive or shocking and in all reality would not even consider it as being unsafe for work, the photograph in itself does IMHO show some technical skill and although it is not to my taste I am sure some will like it.

I did take a brief look and the guy does take some pictures that I do like such as the one linked below...

As for the question of art... The finest minds that have ever debated the topic of what is or is not art have yet to come to a reasoned and complete structured decescription that is generally accepted; does the OP honestly believe he is going to find one on a forum?

People don't just produce an image for viewing. They do it for a reason. .

I am sorry but I laughed so hard when I read those two sentences I about peed myself.
I am sure you meant either; a person doesn't produce an image or people don't produce images, either way, just for viewing.

That is exactly the thing, the only thing, you CAN do with an image is view it. And if viewing an image isn't a reason to produce an image then I am totally lost in this wold now.

Now, I normally understand the point a person is trying to make when I pick at there total miss-use of the English language (all in fun I promise) but I honestly I have no idea what point you're trying to make with that statement.

This will be everywhere soon, it will be bigger than "All your base are belong to us". People don't produce an image for viewing........ Classic ;)

^^^
While your statement might not have made much sense grammaticality, it was still a formed sentence which is all I care about because this is a forum about photography.

The way I took it, was the same as if I said "people don't just walk for the sake of walking." Now you can argue that yes, people can just walk for the sake of walking, but I would argue that they do it for some reason. Either they enjoy the physical exercise, it relaxes them, or maybe it just makes their shoes feel good (they have a soul right?)

So someone does not set their lens on manual focus, spin the ring and take a picture of the wall while they spin in their chair, just to take an image and post it on the internet. They need a reason to produce and present the image, even if it's to test the effects of shutter speed while they spin on their chair.

it is indeed (photography forum) and often half the meaning is in my head and the other half makes it to the page. Generally I over look grammar here because people are writing in the moment. The content is what matters to me.

I'm not really interested in engaging trolls either.

Wrong forum and The page can't be seen, not without logging into Facebook (of which I personally refuse to be a part of ).

Don't you mean "of which I personally refuse to be a part"? You already used "of".

Too bad we can't shove a lens in our ear and take a picture of our thoughts. A picture is worth a thousand words. :)

edit: And it would be a more interesting picture then hamburger on B&W bum.

Well some people don't know what you are talking about so it's up for interpretation anyways!

Hey why did you delete your message? What gives? Your rebuttal/comment was good.
