I think you need to lean more about compressing and resizing. When you compress a picture you're taking it from the original state, lets say raw, and converting it to jpeg, this compresses the data to fit that standard . Going from 4000X3000 Pixels to 400X300 Pixels is a resize compression and shouldn't effect quality if done right, in fact it should increase your PPI giving it a sharper feel. Also if you decrease the quality of an image to make its data size smaller (not it's resolution size) that is a form of compression too.

So know how and when and how much you're going to compress, it will make all the difference in your presentation, especially on the web

Thank you, my camera automatically takes pics in JPEG format, which i believe is lossy(?). I will have to see, it says it needs to be no larger than 1024*1024 and less than 150mb? Will have to figure this out, thank you.
