Where can you get the Canon 85 1.8 for $400? The cheapest I've been able to price it is ~$550. I'm still vacillating between the Canon 1.8 or waiting for the Sigma 1.4.

Junipa...
You can order from B&H but if it's over $1000.00 including Shipping you will cop GST .....I spoke to Discount Digital Photographics and though they don't have a date yet they will be stocking this lens..

If it's not coming out in the US until September, we in Oz will have considerably longer to wait. I guess that means we'll at least have your experience to draw on when we make a decision.

Every time I've tried to buy a lens from DDP, it hasn't been in stock. I've bought lenses from Cameras Direct (they're in Brisbane). They sell for a bit more than DDP but at least the lenses have been available and they ship quickly.

For anyone who wants one of these mainly for portraits, it seems like a no-brainer to me just to get the Samyang/Rokinon/Vivitar/etc. 85 1.4. It's MF but it's apparently pretty awesome optically and you can get them for $250 new.
