Manual is too confusing

Hi
I have had my S90 a few weeks now and I am loving it. At the start I was getting poor shots but with help from the forum my pics have improved no end.

I read the manual but find that although it tells me how to change settings, I find it confusing in that it does not tell in depth what the changes are acheiving.

I feel like I need a dummies guide to the S90.

Can anyone recommend a good site or book that goes into depth about the settings and functions for cameras without confusing me.
