My first DSLR was a 30D, my second is the 5d Mark II and the last camera purchased is the G11. Although you cannot match the IQ of the G11 compared to the DSLRs the articulated screen is a an amazing feature as it allows the photographer to compose images from any angle, position and it shows a 100% preview of the frame. In some situations it allows taking candid shots easier. I suspect that people are bashing the articulated screen because it conveys a PS look to their professsional DSLRs. My message to all these people is: lose the prejudice and see the potential this feature offers! I completely agree https://500px.com/chriskennedydotphoto

When I carry multiple bodies one is always bouncing around on my hip or back For working photogs that don't have the time to treat their gear with kid gloves there is reason for concern--but then serious photographers are not the target audience here. You can always use it folded in these situations. General gallery: http://andreimorar.zenfolio.com

Then you'll understand the logic in this. If Canon didn't want people to believe the 60D to be a continuation of the XXD line, then they could have (and should have) named it something else. There's enough of a step between the 550D and the 7D to intimidate some people. "Normal" hobby photographers aren't like us, who read this forum every day. Don't forget that. But "normal" people pay for their cameras too. I don't disagree that there needs to be something in between the Rebel series and the 7D line. And, frankly, a 50D with an improved sensor, video, and even an articulating screen would have accomplished that quite nicely, and would have been consistent with its predecessors in terms of being an incremental improvement over the current 50D. But Canon decided instead to dumb down the 50D's successor and make it a worse camera than the 50D's logical successor would be. It's just funny to hear someone complain about the lack of PC Sync when if you go to the strobe forum on this very site people tell you to avoid PC sync cables like the plague. But its one of those things that when you need it, its essential.

The wireless flash control only controls canon speedlites. If you want to trigger anything else, alien bees or other studio strobes you need to be able to sync them somehow. As noted the preferable way would be a wireless trigger of some sort. But when push comes to shove and something fails I want the ability to sync with a wire in my camera, and its such a basic and inexpensive option I cant believe they left it off.

05Xrunner Goldmember, Flipflopper. ![]() More info | I dont see this new camera as really an upgrade for anything. Someone with a Rebel T2i going to this just wouldnt make sense because its pretty much the same camera in a slightly different body so they really wouldnt be gaining much at all. I see it as a downgrade from the 50D. So basically Canon has introduced 2 entry level cameras now. You either start with the rebel and move to the 7D or 5D or 1D..or you start with the 60D and move to 7D, 5D, 1D...Stupid addition if you ask me. My gear
