Back button is a much better option for me too. My only issue is when I use the remote, I have to change it back to the normal shutter focus. :(

yeah .. I've just set up a custom setting for when i use the remote now .. got sick of going and changing it all the time just for the remote.

A few times Ive been using a friends camera and still pressing the back button and getting nothing :P

Nice hat Dave!;)

Well it's not me :P These guys are French Napoleonic era re-enactors. Good group of guys and girls. Some of them were well into the port by 11am.

Shouldn't it have been the brandy/conganc then ? :p

Possibly, but given how much port was consumed, maybe that would have been a bad idea ;-)a

It's here! It's here!!

I am off on my long awaited holiday later today and I'm so happy it's here!

Have a wonderful September everyone - I'll be sneaking some peeks in now and again but plan to spend very little time online or in front of my computer, as new and shiny as it may be :D

I've never had that problem, with the 400D or the 5D2. I didn't change anything to use the remote.

Can't say I have either, and I'm a firm AF button for AF and no AF on shutter person now.

Mind you, when I use my remote, it's when I have already locked down focus and don't want the focus shifting somewhere else.

Great shots Dave and Phil.

If I shoot sports or landscape or portrait I use the AF button.

For the few macro I do AF I like to have it on the shutter.

Hey Everyone!

Long time no see! I've been so busy with uni I haven't had time to do anything. Ok, so I want to sell my 1DIII, I am not using it since I got the 5DII, so, is anyone interested?

What are they worth?

Yeah maybe. I was actually looking at a 1DIV, and may still go that way, but am interested.

It's a brilliant body, I just never use it. Never had problems with it, but it's too much for me and I need to save for a uni exchange to Canada next year.
