Speaking of the 70-300L. Here are my impressions of the lens after using it at the Canon expo held in NYC this past thursday and friday. I posted this in the 70-300L thread:
All here is my report:
I'm not allowed to put my card in the camera with the lens because it's a pre-production version. I used it on a 1DIV and 7D.
Max aperture of 4 stays constant at 70-100
101-135 is 4.5
136-200 is 5.0
and 201-300 is 5.6.
Can't judge much off LCD but I was impressed zooming all the way into the images themselves. Images looked tack sharp. It locks on quick but it did hunt a bit when I pointed it at dim lighting. Build is L solid. Feels very good in your hands. Overall I was impressed.
Here is also a picture of the lens i took fully extended out while someone was using it.
Here is the image i snapped on my iphone of the lens fully stretched out:
Here is also my impression of the 60D from using it at the canon expo. On my visit to the canon expo thread:
Just got back from the canon expo. Really great environment. For those that have some time tomorrow before 3pm head down to the javits center. Its free. I was able to use the 60D while there. My initial take: great cheap video slr. The screen will help a lot in that aspect. However, i wouldn't put much pressure on it. Build is slightly bigger than a rebel to me. Very light body. Feels cheap to be honest. Here are some shots off my iphone from the event. Ill be there tomorrow at 12 for another seminar:

Entrance to Canon Expo:
This is the model booth. Here they had a professional shooter using the 1DIV. Showing how easy the work flow can be and "the brilliance" of the 1DIV
I thought this was pretty cool. Every few minutes a model walks down this runway. On the sides are three rows of various different canon models with different canon lens's so you can shoot the models. Then you get to keep the 2GB Sandisk card in the camera. At first i thought this was an actually runway show until i got closer and saw the cameras held by a leash to the bars
Great event too bad its only every 5 years.https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=926070
Hope you guys enjoy! Again these are my experiences from using these items hands on.
