Yesterday was my first football game of the season since the high school state championships back in November of '09. Whew, I am glad that football is back in action!

Nice shots Dave. If this is your rusty, I'll take it. I like #3 & #7.

Pretty good shots. Where did you take #5 from? Were you laying down? What lens was that your 300 2.8?

Thanks for the comments guys. All shots were with with my 300. Number 5 was taken with me knelling on the ground. There is a 4 ft crown in the field.

Guys Ill say this: within an hour of this hitting the web, I had two 50 dollar orders. Not too shabby for a game I really didnt expect to make anything at..

Ha, my "biggest" game in the spring was a side note to the game I was actually shooting. Walked over, shot for a bit after the main game was nearing end, few hundred later went "huh, wasn't expecting that". Though I expect to make something on EVERY game, it's why I bother, but always some you don't expect much or it's an extra to the main shoot.

Great shots, especially if your considering that 'rusty'.

Just out of curiosity, how did you advertise locally? Just handing out business cards? Or what?

Rusty or not, those are some pretty shots :) I really love the expressions on the sideline in #5...

Thanks guys.

Adam- I am pretty well known in the area as being the "Sports photographer guy". Many of the high schools and their administration know me, I make it a priority to get to know them. For games, I have an announcement sheet that is pretty straight forward. When doing indoor sports like basketball and volleyball, I have a sign that I set inside near the entrance.

EDIT: As I re-read that, I realize that might come off cocky. Please dont take it as such. Its just you have to have the mentality of being big where you are.

No worries. I understood what you said. That's what I had figured you did. I'm relatively fluent in German, but I'm starting to run into a language barrier problem. I wish photoshelter had an auto-translate button. :(
