HI
I recently bought a used Sigma 120-300 f 2.8. It is in very good condition. There is some "play" in the lower part of the lens. I was wondering if this is normal for this lens or maybe this type of lens?

Thanks!

I never touched a lens like this, but that really doesn't look normal to me.
I would check the screws on the metal mount and maybe even send it in.

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Nope that doesn't look normal to me. I'm with alex, can you see movement around any of the screws on the mount end? If there is, those would be your culprits.

I didn't notice when I had the sigma 120-300mm. Mine 70-200mm f2.8 iS did have a some play and one day front park came lot more loose. I had to send to canon to get it fixed.

My 120-300 does not do that.

I have read online that some people have had to remove the mount and tighten some internal screws. Maybe this is the issue they were seeing. Seems like it is an easy 5 minute fix if that is the case.
