Hi..I´d seen some really nice shots of the Matterhorn reflected in a lake so I went to see if I could find it and take some shots of my own. Well the lake is called "Riffelsee" and it´s 1100m above Zermatt, there is a small train that goes up the mountain but I walked up and spent the night by the lake. This isn´t Riffelsee it´s a small lake just below which I liked better, if you come with the train you can´t see it´s there. The day was a bit grey and cloudy but I hoped it would be a clear morrning so I could get the first sun on the mountain. I never expected there would be such an amazeing sunset, the ones from the morrning are OK a little too much wind, I like the ones of the sun set better, here´s two I edited on my laptop in the car last night so I hope they look OK.

I hope you like them and thanks for looking

you just keep shooting gems don't you? ;-)a
Lovely work - I think my preference is the second one, richer colours, but both are great.

cheers, Paul

I really like the first one!

Reflections can look a bit trite, but this has real impact and gorgeous colours. It "feels" like a cold mountain.

Brilliant!

Usually there's never a sunset when you need one - well not in England anyway!

I like the colors of the first version better. Second one is just a little bit too much color for me. Great shots! One day I'll get there as well :)

Maybe next year :)

Excellent shot. Well composed. The first one has nice range. You may want to warm up and boost the exposure on the mid ground a bit.

Superb. First one for me.

Your shots this summer have been tremendous.

Beautiful captures. The first one manages to look beautiful but desolate and cold. I am however surprised that there was no ice on the peaks to reflect any of the glow.

I like the last one best. Excellent job capturing a balance between the sky and reflection.

+1 -- I see that one on a wall.

I actually think the first two are a bit on the dark side...the shadow detail is primarily gone. The last one has more detail and is IMO a more pleasing image. If anything, I'd keep the detail of the last image, but tone down the sky ever so slightly.
