You miss the point. Im just saying is Canon going to release a Camera like the d7000 soon? NO yes? Our guess is no!

So I buy a 7D, well not now. The D7000 will make me wait.

All I was asking is there something likely to be in the pipeline.

If I got the 7d 3 monthes ago, I live with it.

I never said I was going to buy a Nikon, only that I feel dirty paying good hard earned on a 7D knowing the D7000 is out there and cheaper and there is nothing like that from Canon.

If you take that approach, you'll be waiting forever. Canon will continue releasing new cameras every year with new and better features. I guess I'd like to know that 1 little feature of the d7000 has the 7d does not that will make your photos that much better.

I shoot around people with both brands constantly but beyond good-natured ribbing, we respect each other's creativity and vision.

Ultimately, they don't care what I use and I don't care what they use. It's all about the final images.

If Canon hadn't released the 7D I would've moved to Nikon a while ago.
Apart from maybe the rebels and the 7D, Nikon's offering are at the moment much more desirable than what Canon is making.

That's a ridiculous thing to say, if somebody is spending excessive amounts of hard earned cash on a camera then they are damn right to be making sure they're getting the best for their money.

Precisely. If I ever lay my hands on a 1200mm, I'd keep it in a hermetically sealed glass viewing case and designate an entire room for its display. The plaque will read: "This lens was once used by the CIA."

The D7000 is simply a tool along side any nikon, canon, sony etc ....dslr body. I like my Americano coffee black and strong, some like it with sugar and cream. Personal choice a is different from every individual. Ergonomics is equally as important that features of the camera.

For my slow moving subjects I prefer an oldie 5d classic vs. a 7d or my 1dmkIII. Goes to show new bells and whistles is wonderful but if you can achieve the IQ and desired captures with an oldie thats the bottom line. If your a dream at post processing and appreciate the photographers crutch of the low res of 300dpi (advantage for us) for prints you can use whatever you like as long as it has decent high ISO capabilities.

The D7000 looks to be a great Camera set to run at the 7D since the D300S doesn't match up so well - I wonder if it will replace the D300 model. Pricing seems very nice at $1199 cam and $1499 as a kit.

Magnisium allow and can beat the D300 in a lot of areas. the D300 AF system like still better. Have to wait and see how the new AF system works overall.

3 I sold the mk2N, but the wife uses 1 of them and depending what im doing I have the choice of FF or 1.3 crop.

Photography has always been about the gear as much is it is about about the photos.
Be educated, listen to a whole years history of photography.

Im sure all the great photogrphers wanted the latest gear just as painters craved new paints.

Actually, I do not agree with your last statement. I know a couple of professional photographers and they don;t care about the latest and greatest at all. Some of them still shoot film next to digital and their gear is far from being new. They use what they are comfortable with. Great photography is still made by the person behind the camera.
