Our 20D has been a great camera for us, but our rebel that is the backup has bit the dust. So far I am leaning torwards the 50D as cards and batteries are the same. I need to make a trip, I live in the middle of nowherer, and check out both models as well as lenses. Thanks again for the help

I have a 5D Mk II and 1D Mk II, but I still find plenty of use for my 20D. I'd still have my 10D also but my daughter appropriated it.

Meant to add that if I were upgrading from the 20D for your purposes, I'd go with the 7D, mainly for the new autofocus. You can hardly go wrong with anything from the 40D on up.

im in the same boat. going to sell my 20D and a few lenses, flash ect. i really have no complaints with the 20D, but I'm hoping to get a 50D and use my 40 as a second body. it wouldnt' hurt my feelings though if I even found a great deal on another 40D. for me, I'd stick with 40 or 50D to use current grips, batts, cards ect.
