Well, I don't have the money for a macro lens (or extension tubes even), so this is my setup...

:D

It gets the job done. Still trying to get the hang of it though. The tape surprisingly holds the lenses together quite well. Even shaking the camera won't separate them.

The beginner clicks the shutter and says "Let's see what I got." ... The experienced photographer thinks "How can I capture what I see?"

My main macro lens is an old 50mm f/2.8 Zeiss Tessar. I have reversed it by glueing it to a camera body cap (cheapest way to mount a non-standard lens)
The other 50mm f/2.8 lens is taken from a cheap 35mm rangefinder-style camera and totally disassembled leaving only the optical tube assembly. It's held in the small recession in the main lens simply by friction.
As the main lens has a 5-blade aperture that likes to get stuck I leave it fully open and have added an 'artificial' aperture in a form of a black cardboard with a small (about f/11) hole drilled in the middle. This aperture is mounted in between the two lenses.
The results are not bad at all. It's quite sharp all the way to the corners with very little chromatic aberration. The boheh is now also nice and round
This is how the duo-lens looks like:

Some late night iPhone pics but shows the rig. Bent aluminum bar, mini ballhead and a few bolts. Works great.

Finally got around to taking some shots of my current gear in a couple of different configurations I've used. The full set is here (external link), but the shots below are my most used.

I diffuse my MT-24EX with Lumiquest UltraBounces (external link).

180L with MT-24EX diffused:
