Got a second 5D Mark II body just now.
Tax in CA $155.53. Oy.
Thanks OP.

Seriously. I had to pay both CA tax and city tax, which together came out to about 10%, well over $100.

:cringe:

Wonder when 60Ds will start hitting the program? Plenty of demo models being handed around right now...

I asked him if Canon Canada offered the Loyalty programme and he said yes but currently only for Powershot cameras. He was not sure whether they will offer for DSLR and suggested I call back in future.

by googling around, looks like that's one of the responses people get calling from canada, instead of the blunt "no".

however, *none* have been able to get a SLR from canon canada historically, so dont expect any better answer than you already have.

A price like that makes me perfectly happy to type like a high school tweeter.

I know how you feel.

Aren't you glad you didn't buy mine?

The t2i isn't even in the program. Don't expect it to show up until late 2011.

well, don't know how much of this thread you've followed, but i got one of the early 5D2's and it arrived DOA...so i had to order a new one and return broken one....well, that was 3 weeks ago...still not showing a credit to my AMEX for that $1800+....they know almost nothing about the camera i returned, etc...UPS shows it delivered and signed for...so they're looking into it before they refund me the money...who knows how long before i get my money back...

Pretty good deal. Rumors are that Canon will be announcing the 5D Mark III, so you may see prices drop even further.

Finally! Now normal people can afford the 5DII, not just for the elite anymore. The sooner they announce the III, the better
