I thinking of renting a lens for our schools football homecoming game on October 8 around 7PM.
Im thinking of either a 16-35 2.8L or a 24 1.4L.
They would be mainly used to take pictures of the crowed as a whole and after when we rush the field since i have a telephoto if needed i can zoom on specific areas so no need to worry about that.

I just needed some help on what to decide.
Any other lens that might be as good or better that i should look at?
Hopefully you guys can help me out.

Thanks
Moe

You stated you will be shooting crowd shots so I would think the 16-35 would be a better choice (wide end at 16 will look more dramatic). There you also get a little more flexibility. Football games are lit pretty well, so the speed of a 24L probably might not be needed.

^^I'd have to agree.
