No way someone else on here likes skim! Cool shots.

I Think the guy in #1 is a little dark. You could pump the brightness a little or expose higher. I don't really care if the foam in my waves is blow out. Thats just my preference. He is also late on the wave. Did he get covered up?

#2 It looks like a nice wrap with a huge spray. Maybe a less close crop would show the entirety of the spray.

Tips
1. A cool trick is to get lower. I like to lay down, so that the wave looks bigger. Sometimes I just kneel. This will also help you get some sand in the foreground, which looks cool imo.

2. Get horizontal. See which way they are wrapping and move down the beach so you can get shots of them coming at you.

Thanks for the advice. This was the first time ive shot skim before so im still trying to figure it out. He didnt get covered in that one but I got a few other sequences of him with a nice wrap then getting covered. Ill have to try those techniques. Were these were taken i couldnt have done that because it was at high tide and the beach is at a steep angle. Ill see what i can get next time out

I would expose a little under to get less blown highs,
then pull harder on the shadows in post to get them back in the game.
Right now both ends are a little out there, highs too blown and shadows too deep.
Great capture in the second of him carving a groove in the wave.
Powerful.
