I just want a new lens, for what I shoot, the bells and whistles not needed...
I'm with you on this one Gail.
I would love to step-up the lenses for my bread n' butter focal lengths, 35 and 50, add the 100/2 and 135/2. I'm considering swapping out the 70-200/4 L for a 200/2.8 L. Furthermore, I've been recently needing a litte more focal length then my current max, thus churning the wheels in head my about either getting a 1.4TC or going old school and getting the ancient Sigma 400/5.6 APO AF (research leads me to believe it will fully operate on my 1Ds).
And bodies, thats another story...
Yeah, I've got all these options I want to do, but two things keep nagging me about upgrades and add-ons: One, is obviously the cost but the second reason keeps me grounded. That being I do not make a living taking pictures, I take pictures because I enjoy it. I do not even consider myself a "photographer", just a dude who takes and prints pictures.
So I find it hard to justify upgrades just becuase I want them, but I still want them.
The 100/2 is a definite, I had one before and loved it. The 135/2 is most likely a must for me, but it'll take some time getting. All of the other 'wants', well, I can't justify.
What I keep telling myself is that I'm lucky enough to have the kit that i do and I should be happy with it and use it to it to the best of my so-called abilities.
But crap, I still want all of the nice shiney sparklies...
