The camera was $1679.20 and they added tax to that. In MN, it came in slightly above $1800.

A standard refurb from Canon direct , not using the loyalty program shows at $2099 on the Canon site, so that is a savings of around $420. I won't complain, the S10 was just sitting around not being used. I will take a $400 price cut for a 10 year old P&S that hasn't been used in several years now...:)

So they will take $420 off of the 5dii if you turn in any camera? I have an old S45 P&S that I don't use anymore

It is a refurb and only has a 90 day warranty. When they asked what camera I had for the program, I mentioned the S10 and the 300D, to my surprise they said both were eligible...so naturally, I said the S10.

The number I called was - 1-866-443-8002 option 2. Asked what camera's were available, she told me the models and the costs. You have to add sales tax in, but still a good deal if you have no problem with a refurb model and the 90 day warranty.

I've never needed a warranty myself (having bought most of my stuff used and not having one) and If something is wrong with the camera I would most likely find out within the 90 day period.. Anytime after that my CPS membership would help with any other servicing it needs

I bought a powershot a410 off craigslist just for the loyalty program :)

Canon exchanged my busted 7D with a new one. I think Canon is going to try to sell my busted 7D with AF issues that they couldn't fix after 4 tries to someone?

I am sure they won't do that. It will end up in a pile of canon returns that always show up in a pic here where they destroy L glass and 1 series cameras.

that's great. I'm so tempted to buy the 5D II under this program. I checked Ebay and my S45 only sells for like $30-$40.

I had been saving for the 5D II when I read about the program here. I had no issue with the refurb or 90 day warranty, so I jumped on the savings. I will run it through its paces when I get it...should be delivered tomorrow.:D

This a great "heads up" on Canon's version of cash for clunkers.
