Thanks Scott!

It's great to see this thread growing and that more and more people have discovered Zeiss glass. I am however seriously worried about one thing... the absence of ducks in this thread! Ever since the great Henri Cartier-Bresson (external link) photographers have made sure to make it a priority to take photos of ducks ASAP with a new lens in order to properly baptize it.

So to placate the gods of photography, here are a two duck shots to counteract the appalling lack of them in this thread ;)

I need to scout the area for ducks as well. My MP 100 will probably come towards the end of next week. So, I've got about a week left to find some ducks to shoot.

I was a huge fan based on your zeiss pictures alone. You have a very distinctive and recognizable style. But when going to your site, I was completely blown away. Fantastic work!

Hi, I'm really interested in getting this lens some time in the future. But I am curious how well this lens would perform at 1:1 (or greater) using extension tubes.
Does anybody have any examples or experience using this lens with tubes?

Thanks,
Paul

I tried this lens with Canon EF 1.4x II Extender. Works fine on macro. But be careful...
Did the same with MP-E 65mm.. too macro.

Thanks. But why 'be careful'? Does the rear element protrude too far when focusing at infinity?

What about tubes? There should be nothing that it'll hit on them.
Also, would I be correct in assuming 50mm of (extra) extension is required for 1:1?

The extender sticks out, so it works only when zeiss is extended... eh.
anyway, its not rocket science...common sense works fine. I did not use the extender before I checked it was safe to use.
