using a longer exposure time to capture your subject in motion (IE: the car in this case).

Presumably produces a sharp picture of the car with a blurred background ;)

ok,thanks alot...ill try it out when i go to the race..im making a checklist on what does what...hopefully i will be able to succeed at photography by the time its needed..
