Hi,
I have this lens from 1 week and I really like it but I have to get used to this new focal length 50mm because I have used only the 135/2 during 8 months with my 5DII. I thinkI'll fall in love to these 2 lens.

Hahaha yeah I guess i've just been hibernating a bit while i established the business and finished high school now that i'm done i can really start going for it! Actually got an email from polka dot bride and they want to feature my work which is unreal! Really excited for the next few years of hopefully growth!

im a natural/available light shooter too, but i have been known to resort to controlled lighting for commercial shoots lol

Had a look at your work too, couldn't stop at the single page! great stuff! You've got a really defined, clean style. Really easy on the eyes and tells a great story.

Yeah i usually do the same with corporate work. Good to be able to control the light around the environment instead of changing the environment around the lighting.

I'm having a mad dilemma at the moment - one i'm sure many people have gone through: 50L or 24-70L? Can anyone justify why they'd take a 50L over a more 'usable' lens like the zoom? I know which I want, and I know which I need, and it's not getting any easier...

That's your call.

I'm looking at this lens or the 135L and 3/4 of my lenses are already at or have 50mm in the FL.

In my case, I got the 17-55 (to your 24-70) instead. Hope that helps.

Decided to try out the CA (creative auto) mode on my 5D2 yesterday and here are a couple of the results, hand held:

the 24-70 isnt all that great unless you have one of the rare sharp copies. or you dont mind stopping it down... but then you might as well get the 24-105 f/4L which is a REALLY sharp nice lens and has more reach

shot on the bottom left is actually from a 24L.. buut i figured you guys wouldnt mind too much!
