So what do you all think? Will you be buying this lens?

I'd really like one, but it will probably be a while until it's in the cards for me. I think I am going to start with the Sigma 30 and then buy the 50 and 85 if I like it.

i'm really interested in it. i'm starting to get into primes and already have the 30 and the 50 offering, but i'd really like to see what street price and images look like first.

I'll have to wait and see if this is worth the jump from an 85 1.8. I'm itching for an 85LII, and I don't really want to shell out for something that's not going to satisfy long-term.

Is this lens already for sale ? Just saw a local shop had it in stock, so I ordered it.

I'm keen but I don't know if I have the patience to wait much longer. It won't be out in Oz for ages yet, so I'll probably give in and get the Canon 85 1.8

Simple - buy it online!

You'll get it for half the price - and, if the purchase price is less than $1000, you won't even pay GST on it!

With the Aussie dollar at parity with the US dollar, they're still charging us as if it were worth 50 US cents...

just picked up my copy. I'm on my way home. First impression is that this lens is quite huge. Gonna post some pics soon. It cost me 849 Eur or about 1100 USD.

Congrats! You may well be the first consumer to own one :) Looking forward to the pics.

I really want to like this lens.

On the picture of the cat in the grass. Could you tell me where the focus point was?

It appears that the grass a little in front of the cat and to the right is in sharper focus then the cat.
