Obtained these images at two out-buildings at friend's residence, near Idaho Falls, ID, this weekend.

I believe these to be {Polistes dominula}

Nice shots, but you'd never catch me that close to a paper wasp nest. I don't mind spiders or even honeybees, but wasps gives me the willies.
