Why do my batteries take so long to charge?

First I stand out in my driveway all day waiting on the brown truck to deliver this:

Now I have to wait for the batteries to charge. They have been in the wall 3, no, make that 4 minutes now... tap.tap.tap...

Soon, it will be "Release the Kracken!" or make that "Release the Video!"

I read the manual for the 2 hours that it took the battery to charge. May be a good idea...But yea I completely know the feeling.
