I just got one for my girlfriend. I am amazed by it. The macro is incredible. Plus having an f2 lens is awesome for inside. I love it. Coming from my 5d2 I can really get used to this thing.

Awesome. Think of the form factor, ease of transport, lack of hassle - and then the quality of the photos. Very cool work.

I wish I could see some shots of the Cathedral basilica, but I don't think the s95 would perform well without a small tripod in that setting.

Tried some product photography last night with the S95. I was pleasantly surprised by the file detail at ISO 320, the RAW headroom (which I earlier criticized in another thread) and bokeh quality at f/2.

Wear and tear observation....

The little wrist band is absolutely getting shredded due to incidental contact with anything Velcro.

Not saying there is anything defective, but am I a little surprised. None of my other gear/straps/stuff does this. Any thoughts?

chmod

That was my first thought when I saw the strap! I haven't caught it on velcro yet though.

I replaced the wrist strap with a better one the moment I bought the S95. I don't like the original one at all.

The details in that pine cone are amazing. I'm loving the shallow depth of field.

How can you assess detail in a 375x500 pixel (0.19 MP) image? All you can see is the composition here, and artifacts of downsizing.

This could have come from an extremely blurry original. Upsample it to 10MP to see what I mean.
