300mm F4 IS.
Don't know if this is within budget due to exchange rates but it is my (personal) favourite.

A used 35 L. I love this lens! Great walk around for me! On a crop I am not sure if people would agree, but that's what I would do.

- 50L
- 85L mark I

If I have $1400+, does that mean I have infinite amount of money from the plus sign? ;)

If so, I'll start with 200mm f/2 and go from there. :D

If it is exactly $1400, I would try to get a used 24L II.

Funny, 24LII is what I was going to say, but it was over budget. I like my 24mkI on both FF and crop.

If I didn't already have it, I'd get the 300mm f/4. (or I'd buy the one Bohdank is selling for less). More good choices...

135mm f/2
400mm 5.6
70/200mm f/4 IS
