Looking at your gear, how about saving a little and getting a great walkaround (I love mine on a crop): EF 24-105 f4L IS?

Sigma 100-300mm f4 good and flexible telephoto zoom that isn't extremely expensive or heavy. It is possible to get many good wide, standard, or medium telephoto lenses on a budget but impossible to find a decent telephoto lens on a budget. Having a crop body means I can get most of the performance of the 24L or 35L by getting the sigma 30 or substitute the 135L with the Canon 100. Unfortunately there are no options for good long lenses that are cheap (under $400).

You must be on the wrong thread. This ones only got 1300 for budget. Lol.

When I replied, it said $1400+, OP must have revised the thread. ;)

I'm thinking I would save another $300 - $400 and pick up an 85 f/1.2L II!! However, if that wasn't an option, most likely the 50 f/1.2L!!

You could sell 7D and 10-22 and have enough for a 5D II if you buy a refurb through Canon Loyalty Program. I plan on buying the 5D II later this month through CLP or a 24L II, I still have not decided between these 2. I have some old canon rebel film camera to trade in, look on local craigslist for an old canon film camera for $50 max, I see them all the time here, and I live in a small town.

I would get a used 70-200 2.8 IS mkl or a used 5D + a manfrotto 055xprob + ball head combo

Depends what you want out of it but I generally think it is a bad idea, the 5D2 adds little for how much more it costs.
