@nathan - it's a ruger 77 mk2 vt (varmit/target or in other words heavy barrel) in 22/250, I like things with a bit of reach

with your current front runners you had better define what you want to do as 22lr and 243 are miles apart

Hit a rabbit with that and it'll stay hit. Nice scope !

except for small rabbits , I just don't find them afterwards for some reason:twisted: and as for the scope go check out what the benchrest and F class boys and girls are using , and you thought lenses are expensive

everything costs more or takes longer than you expect

I had a mate at work who was into target skeet, so I know how expensive the hardware there is, I'd hate to think what the equivalent in scopes would be.

Not really paddock hunting gear though :D

I say, "Just do it" or save up for a Mamiya RB/RZ or Contax 645 setup.

Canon...They had my 1DII and 24-70 done in 6 days. I told them I was going away (which I was).

Give them a budget and they'll just get it done.

Even for a Sigma lens? I don't think so

Try CameraClinic.com.au, if they can't guarantee a 1-2 week turnaround (they're in Melbourne), ask if they can recommend anyone in Sydney.

Awesome! It's really easy to learn to use - just think of it as about six speedlights bundled together set to manual :-)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Haha, Yeah. I meant get both!
22lr for cheap running and 'fun' and 243 for hunting.

I tried a couple of places in the city and none were particularly helpful. One recommended going to CR Kennedy (distro of Sigma gear) as technically its still under warranty but this will require sending it to Melbourne too, which I'd prefer not to do.
