Hi anybody using the expodisc for white balance.
I'm wondering how beneficial they are also is there much of a difference between the neutral and the portrait models .
Thanks in advance.

I think a lot of photographers are fixing WB in pp nowadays. 1Dx, 1DM4, 5DM2, 7D, EOS-M, 8-15L, 17-40L, 24 TSE II, 24-105L, 50L, 85L II, 100L, 135L, 200L f/2.8, 300L f/4, 70-200L II, 70-300L, 400Lf/5.6

I haven't used the WhiBal in about a year. I don't think it's worth the money for you to get the ExpoDIsc. Sounds good, but with Auto and Camera RAW, you don't need it. Jay

Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | I have one of the neutral discs, but I've found it is just easier to get as close as I can with the in-camera presets and tweak the final result in Lightroom; I haven't used the disc in months. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | Honestly, the in-camera presets, on the 7D at least, do a pretty good job most of the time. Taking it off AWB and using those will probably save you as much time as using an Expodisc or similar. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

Sometimes, with odd or mixed lighting, there is just no good way to get tweak it visually in Lightroom. The Expodisc helps in those situations. That said, I really do hardly ever use mine. - Keith

The results with that spot on. Michael
