on a more serious note, who said this was not a wedding lens? Especially when the official photog runs around with a "boring" 24-70, it's time to get some "different" shots

I do see a bit of softness in your images. That's not normal with this lens. Mine is very sharp - as sharp as my 17-40L and maybe a hair past it. Unfortunately the left one third of the image is mushy about 30% of the time, which I understand is a common issue. I sent mine in today in hopes Sigma can fix the problem. Other than this issue, I love the lens. It's awesome having that long EX warranty. I like a company that stands by their product.

I have already sent it in once for calibration and it returned without any visible improvement. The funny thing is mine is soft on the right part of the image about 50% of the time lol. My problem now is that I dropped it from about a half ft a few weeks ago and the part of the mount was dented so I had to "shave" off a tiny bit of it in order to be able to be mounted on to my cameras again but the lens itself is still the same neither worse nor better after the drop lol. Though I am worried that Sigma won't calibrate for free anymore after the drop.

I would still send it back. Did you include any example photos last time?

I just got my older & well-used 24-70 back from being repaired & re-calibrated, and had a great experience with Desiree at Sigma in NY.
