I have a feeling thats going to be the best shot of the day. Didn't have to do much correction (-0.1 on brightness and a little sharpen), and just a crop the extra sky off the sides. 7DMkII | 7D | 450D | Canon 18-55 IS | Canon 55-250 | Canon 100-400L MkII | Canon 100-400L | Canon 24-105L | Canon 50mm 1.8 | Canon 1.4x TC II | Tokina 11-16

Never got called Daniel at school - as in NZ equiv of elementary - 2 Daniels in a class of 25. Middle School - 3 in a class size of about 28. The Quality Of The Light mikerault wrote in post #11133017 ![]() Use a properly adjusted circular polarizer perhaps? Just a guess! Plus good post processing! CPLs typically don't work well in airshow situations because as you pan accross the flight line, your angle off the sun constantly changes and so will your polarizing effect. In this case a CPL just robs you of light. Jay

There is a bunch of blue drowning out the color and the planes dont' look crisp. Whats the key to crisp color and sharp images?? For the OP, no insult to your pics, they are better than what i can do! You did a great job. Thanks! For every decent photo I had at least 10 that were washed out, out of focus, or partially cut off. I even had a couple of pics of nothing but blue sky. I didn't use any filters. For the photos that look like they have potential, I just try to adjust levels to maximize my histogram, sometimes just a bump up of the black level will help that washed out look. I also tried to keep my exposures far to the right as much as possible. The rest is just luck. 7DMKII, 5DMKII, Canon 17-40L, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, Canon 70-200mmL f/2.8 II, Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary, Zeiss ZE 50mm Makro Planar, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8, Kenko Pro 300 DG 1.4x TC, Canon 2X III TC, 580EX II x2, YN560, RF603's
