I'd also go amazon over Abes even if it was $50 more expensive. Abes is horrible and I won't be going back there again.

As far as 24-70 on a crop. Not everyone likes to go wide. And not everyone needs wide as much as others. Some people find themselves in more situations where wide isn't needed or desired.

Not everyone has money they can just throw away like that. Suck it up and buy it at Abes, then give $50 to a family in need or something.

$50 is a small price to pay for not having to deal with them if there is a problem with your lens.

Was a tough choice to wait it out or not. I'm sure MKII will be out next spring, but I need it for a job next week and I can always trade up later. :D

No guarantee! So buy when you need.

Amazon is the same price today as Abes...

Do you know that if you but it from Amazon, you might get it from Abes anyway?

This one ships from Amazon, LLC... but yeah I'm sure Abes was one of the other sellers on there.

Even if it came from Abes, you have more protection buying thru Amazon, if you use Amazon checkout.

That said, I'd still prefer Amazon. If it's not in stock there, I'd try BH Photo.

Good lord! Let's over analyze everything. To the OP, congratulations and enjoy! I bought the Sigma 24-70 HSM DX EX PX IF SEX (or whatever all the abbreviations are) F2.8 a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. For my CROP BODY!

Are you serious? Next thing you're going to suggest folks go out and take photos.

Bought from Abe's once and never again. I got a great price but it just wasn't worth taking the extra 20mins telling the guy no over and over when he called back to "confirm" my order. No to the extended warranty multiple times, no to the extra case, no to the cheapo $20 "protective" filter, no, no, no, no. After finally getting the point across about the filter his reply was "Ok, but I sure hope you don't use the lens alot. You really need this filter". Simply unbelievable. Thankfully no issues with the lens, touch wood. I shudder to think of having to deal with them concerning a return.

Anyways happy shooting with your new lens. I've been eyeing one of those myself.
