Im looking at picking up another 5DII/7D Combo for my girlfriend via "the program".

Can someone tell me the details of Canon's refurb program? As in..whats new and whats used on the camera, what I should expect shuttercount to be, what condition should I expect the body to be in physically, what accessories are included.

I know Im moved to the 90day warranty as opposed to the 365..

I bought a refurb 24-70 for $900 and change. The guy at the counter explained that most of the gear sold as refurbs are shelf units that customers are able to handle during the sales process. They are then sent back to Canon where they are cleaned, calibrated and packaged. Mine works great and looked brand new. I'm guessing calibrating a lightly used lens might be a better process than whatever quality control happens on the assembly line.

Yes, and it's full of all kinds of details - EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about the CLP has already been covered in great depth. The thread isn't even that old (Aug 2010)...suggest you start at page 1 with a beverage and snack of your choice. ;)

That thread should be closed since it's a duplicate. It's pointless to repeat the same info again and again while answering the same questions, again and again, on the CLP because not much has changed since Aug when the first thread began. The original thread in the POTN Market forum covers everything.

Are all the cameras from the refurbished store available, or just a select few? I was set on getting a 50D, but I just noticed they have the t2i kit on the second page.

When I called this afternoon they did not offer me a T2i. XS, XSi, T1i, 40D, 50D, 5DII, and 7D was what I was offered for SLRs.

I bet when you get the bill it will be $1599 + tax which comes to $1670. That's the verdict in the other forum.
