I have had all good dealings with Abe's Of Maine, I am not affiliated with them in any way! I have bought some gear from them and usually a few bucks less than others. The 24-70 will be a good choice, I'm not flat footed either, and when you get FF you are set.

Was a tough choice to wait it out or not. I'm sure MKII will be out next spring, but I need it for a job next week and I can always trade up later. :D

If you need it, then get it! Have fun with it. It's a great lens!

Are you serious? Next thing you're going to suggest folks go out and take photos.

I don't knowwwww...Taking pictures (especially with a crop body and that lens) is an iffy proposition....

Wait, I'm supposed to take pictures with this? I thought it was just so I could put it in my signature....

Let us know how you like the lens, where ever you buy it from, as long as you can put it your signature, that's the most important thing.

24-70L? Yuck. 17-55 instead. Or better yet, 24L or 35L - pick your own poison.

Wow... a little side story here, apparently there is a $1k daily limit on my debit card, so I had to re-do the order Thursday morning after calling my bank to up the limit (*cringe*... hehehe).
So I ordered it Thursday morning.... decided to start a free trial of Amazon Prime for the free 2 day shipping... and it is out for delivery this morning...... 24 hours after I ordered it.

Bless you Amazon.... bless you.... :-D :-D

I'm going to wait for the MKII of that lens. But that's just me..

People have been telling for 5 years know that the MKII is comming.
The same for the 35 F1.4.... which I bought 2 years ago. If you need the lens buy it know, you'll miss a whole lot of shots if you are going to wait.

And that L factor is, according to me, the reason why a lot of people choose the 24-70 over the 17-55 on a crop.
I prefer having the IS and the awesome range from the 17-55 rather than a 24-70 with a red stripe :)

I prefer having a lens that I can use on any Canon EOS body I buy. ;)

Just sell the 17-55 and buy something else when going to FF then :)

Same price at Amazon.com today. I'd go with Amazon over Abes of Maine, personally.

I have no affiliation with nor represent Amazon in any way.

But they do have a 30 day return period, and returns are hassle free, should you need to return.

agreed

I know, right? I'm just sayin'...
