Too much! I think it's about £1400/£1500 in the UK.

So, what you are telling me is that after the conversion, this will be the MSRP for the U.S.

I found this on another forum

Current data:-
"The EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye is to ship in January 2011 at an expected street price of US$1400 in the U.S."

Sorry but I don't know the original source of this statement but it may help to give you a guide.

That sounds about right. The sterling to US dollar exchange rate is about 1 to 1 when it comes to Canon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The change in release date is said to be due to late changes in the manufacturing process. In UK there are already prices and pre-ordering. Current date is March.

I think the price of $2000-$2500 is fair considering what it is. It is definitely a specialty lens, akin to the TS-E line and the MP-E lens. Its not for everyone and isn't priced to sell to the masses.

As a fisheye junkie, I want one. I've officially started collecting my AMEX reward points towards the purchase when it rolls out and hits the rebate list at some point.
