Thanks for looking and commenting everybody - appreciated :)

Lester - really know very little about aphids but these ones are very common ATM - keep finding them all over the place. I'd guess they might be from the Sycamore/plane tree out in the street which gets infested by aphids every year (you don't want to park your car underneath it). Don't know if the colour differences represent different sexes but they look otherwise very similar to each other.
