Hey All,

I just bought an S95, for which i would like a bag / case which is *sshole proof, so to say. The s95 is my go anywhere camera, therefore i would like a bag/case that i could just throw in my hiking backpack or my snowboarding jacket without worrying. What can you recommend me?

Thanks

Jan

I used to use a case logic hard case for my s90 that provided some protection.
If you really want *sshole proof, you may need to check out pelican.

The s95 is pretty much exactly the same size as the s90.

Check the thread out for s90 cases. It's a pretty long thread... hopefully you see one in there that fits your needs:

Try looking at Tenba. I bought several of them back when I used all my film equipment. They were pricey, but the were good.

If you want small, look at the WaterField bags. I just ordered one for my G11. Your S95 would fit in the size called Megapixel (24). I had to order the largest, Saturation, size.

Lowepro d-pods 20 - perfect fit

Lowepro Rezo 15 - fits but I think it is a tad bit small

Crumpler Thirsty Al medium - very snug fit, a bit difficult to insert camera into case, easier to pull out with wrist strap attached.

Crumpler Thirsty Al large - easy in and out but too much side to side wiggle room.

Just got a Lowepro Ridge 30. It's perfect...has room for a extra card or two in a zippered compartment on the outside and another compartment inside the flap for a extra battery. Looks great too. Picked it up at a local Best Buy for $10.99.

I bought Crumpler's "Thirsty Al" (l)

Has a little bit of room to spare, some bought the (m) and it may or may not fir from what I understand.

BUT, what you need to get is definitely a better wrist strap if your case has velcro closures. The ones from canon are terrible. I bought an adjustable wrist strap made by olympus and it does not stick to velcro and get messed up. Plus it's adjustable.

AND it's black!

The Temba medium case is a piece of crap!!!! The velcro on the belt barely catches so I dont think I would trust it over water or in the mountains....it is a pain in the butt to get the camera in and out of the case because if the elastic around the top, it takes 2 hands......and if you put a spare battery in the front pocket the main front compartment velcro barely catches. That was a waste of 18 bucks!!!

Just got me a G7 X on order:)

Agreed. The Lowepro D-Pods 20 fits the S90/95 perfectly. I had a Rezo 15 and it was a bit too small, which resulted in the front flap just barely closing.

I had a hard time trying to find a D-Pods 20... the are out of stock nearly everywhere, including Amazon, Ebay, Sell N Send, and the Lowepro site. I finally found one at Fry's, which is a chain of electronics stores, mostly in the western US. $9.99 plus $1.99 shipping, and no tax to my state. If you want one of these, you should probably move fast since it is not clear whether they will be for sale much longer.
