1st day out with G12

Gave my newly aquired G12 a bit of fresh air today....

Processed with Lightroom and Nik HDR Efex Pro.

I like it. I'd bring up the greens a little more (for contrast), but I like this kind of imaging. It captures the imagination.

Scuff, are you using a converter tube. I saw a bit dark on the corner side or is a effect that you created?

i like the tones, a little too much on the cool side, but it came out lovely.
how are you liking the g12?

Everything about the image has been manipulated. The effect is exactly what I was after.
The image was processed in canon software and turned into a tiff file (no support for the G12 on ACR or lightroom yet). After importing the resulting tiff file into lightroom I corrected the colours as best I could, created 2 virtual copies, one 2 stops under and one 2 stops over. These files were processed in HDR Efex Pro. Removing a large amount of colour saturation, and adding warmth. Back in lightroom, graduted exposure areas were edited to concentrate the viewers visualisation tracking in the image.

I think the G12 is excellent, I have had a G10 gor a few years, so I am somewhat familiar with the G series cameras.

My only gripe revolves around the handling, which applies to any small camera. I am used to using the cameras and lenses in my sig day in and day out, and I am always hitting buttons accidentally when using the much smaller form factor cameras.

Well I like it, too. I am hoping to get a G12 sometime but always seems like something else pops up.

I prefer the original one... I've the 11 and love it, but the 12 seems to be a great camera!

Same here. Both are nice, but the original is nicer to me.

love the colors of the original, but i can see what look the OP was going for in the edited version, which is quite nice as well.

Like it, I'm still waiting on Adobe to bring up todate the RAW bits needed to
load into Lightroom
I'll have to give this HDR thingy a try, thanks for sharing!
