Shot this truck on Saturday. It's being showcased at SEMA next week for DUB Magazine.

Nice. Good shots, 3rd one needs some work though, the lighting on the truck makes the paint look flat or otherwise known as matte colored. But all in all great shots. Looks like you had a fun time.

Nice looking truck....the red channel is about +20 too much....looks much better if you drop it back a bit.

I really like them, bar the last three shots, I would have left the whole car in frame as it's the truck you shoot, not the girls :)

Thanks for the comments! I'll channel it down a bit and see what happens. I do have shots of just the truck but a vehicle with a girl always attracts more attention. :) Just got a text this morning...it's a '51, not a '52. Oops.

Truck looks good. Were you able to move the truck around at all or just shoot it in place?

Just in place...that was the first time it was every taken out of the garage since they've started work on it. Actually the first tow truck dude turned down the job--didn't want to mess it up. It was, "Too nice." LOL

The light on the girls looks pretty good. The light on the truck doesn't make it look all that great, which is a common problem when you shoot both together.

I'd like to see more of just the truck.

I've always thought the idea of vehicles and models together doesn't do justice to either one...

true..

shots look pretty good but I would've kept the whole truck in the images and not have left parts cropped/framed out

The easiest way to counteract the whole sacrificing nice light on either models or car problem, is to throw the camera on a tripod, shoot the car, then get the girls in and light for the girls. Process both photos separately (making sure WB, colour, EXP etc. is uniform between both shots) and then merge them at the end, simple!

If you don't like comping, then you'll just need to get more lights and shoot 'through' the subjects and onto the cars - it takes a bit of practice. The easiest way is to shoot it outdoors so that you can use the natural light to light the car, and some low-powered strobes to give the people a kick.

Great pictures, fourth one is my favorite. But the light seems to be very intense on that flawless red paint.
