You don't need a telescope

I'm hoping that others will contribute to this thread to encourage those that have only basic camera equipment.

The only rule for posting an image here is that it must have been taken without the use of a telescope.

I'll post a couple to get started, and keep my fingers crossed that others think this is a good idea and will post more.

Orion. Taken on a 40D with a 17-85 kit lens at 17mm

Doug, I'm guessing that was taken with the use of a tracking mount, but I'll let it go, as I imagine someone could make a barn door if they were really interested.

Doug , sorry man but your disqualified :( . Great Image tho !!! Is that with a barndoor mount ? Heres my image below . Took this back in 09" . Tripod mounted , 135-400mm Sig APO .

There are a few things you can do without a telescope and tracking mount with your camera. Simple wide field images, Star Trails, and of course Time Lapse Animations.
