I don't even know if these qualify as "portraits" but I was hiking with my kids and took a few pics that I thought turned out pretty good, but I don't know...I've been shooting sports for about two years and this portrait thing has me stymied. Am going to try again in a couple days, but wanted to get some feedback on these as I will be returning to the same place to do the same type of pics. Thanks.

Butch.

Thanks so much! The #1 was at 70mm and #2 at 105mm. I used my 70-200 f2.8.

I like them, but with "fall photos" I expect to see some color! :)

You're right! Here are a couple that do have some color...I didn't realize I could only upload 2 at a time! Sorry!

Exactly my thoughts -- and beautiful photos. I just love #2 as it speaks a lot about the moment between the two

Nice set! Even though fall pics I still like the B-W ones. Kids look like they had a good time out on a hike. Were these recent? Shirtsleeve weather gone here now.

They were done about 2 weeks ago. We had another great day today and we went to take more pics. Still good temps here, thankfully! Thanks for the feedback!
