The 5D kit isn't listed anymore. It was on page 2, and was listed as sold out for at least the last week or so that it was on there.

Well that's crap if the kit's were not part of the program.

The 5D kit was on page two. Even when it was sold out it remained on the page for another day or so and then disappeared.

The way I had it figured was that if you purchased the kit, the 5D2 came to $1506 if you valued the 24-105 lens at $800.

$2639 -20% = $2111 + 9.25% (California Tax) = $2306 – $800 (24-105) = $1506

And if I were to buy the body only, it would come out to this:
5D2 Body
$1999 – 20% = $1599 + 9.25% = $1747

$1747 is still a very good deal for a 'like new' 5D2 but $200 too much for me in my financial situation.

Just because the 5D2 lens kit is available on the refurbished page, doesn't mean it is currently being offered in the Canon Loyalty Program.

Yes, I saw it on the list as well, it has been said that the kits are only offered up to the 50D - i'll try to find the post.

If someone is able to buy the kit and sell the lens and they can make approximately $200, it's a good deal! If you guys are saying you saw it, then great.

you have to call them to see what exactly is in stock. When i bought my 7D the 5DmII was still listed on the page, but not in stock.

Regardless of what camera it is, you get a 20% off refurb price. (you will have to pay .8(price on shop.usa.canon.com) + tax + shipping if you want next day delivery)

Found a broken G2 (good battery tho) for $13 and called Canon
For the G2
G11...$259.99
xs $319.99 w. 18-55IS
xsi $399.99 w. 18-55 IS
40D body 559.20 or 719.20 w. 28-135
50D body 719.20 or 839.20 w. 28-135
5dii 1,599.20 body
7d 1,087.20 body

I figure the XSI to be the best deal...sell the 18-55 for $100 and the XSI body is $300, only $40 more than the G11

I your situation it's best sell the working 20D and buy a broken Canon P&S as the trade-in. If the 20D was broken than it wouldn't be worth much to sell and trade-in would be appropriate.

Sell the 20d and send in a point and shoot. No sense in sending in a working 20d that you can get some money for vs a point and shoot that you can get off ebay.

That will make the deal even better for you.

On another forum I just read that Canon is NOT offering the 5DII any longer with the Loyalty Program.

Here's the post:

Anyone here confirm? I hope not as I need one more week for my funds to clear to buy the 5DII.

I can confirm that, I called in yesterday to get the exact cost of the 5dii, i was going to order one. I called in twice and both reps told me they are no longer offering the 5d2 through canon loyalty. I asked if it was just because its out of stock and they said that was not the reason.
